Schaeffler Acquires Solar Farm

The global automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler has acquired a solar farm located in Kammerstein, Bavaria, Germany, from one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies BayWa r.e. AG. The solar farm covers a total land area of 10.7 hectares (just over 26 acres) and has an installed capacity of 9.9 MW-peak, which is enough to supply about two percent of the electricity required by Schaeffler’s locations in Germany.

Schaeffler Establishes Partnership with Hydrogen Producer Lhyfe

The automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with the French hydrogen producer Lhyfe regarding the production and purchase of green hydrogen. Lhyfe produces and supplies green hydrogen for mobility and industrial applications. The production locations enable regional and local production of green hydrogen in industrial quantities.

Melior Motion GmbH becomes Schaeffler Ultra Precision Drives GmbH

At the beginning of this year, the automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler acquired Melior Motion GmbH, an innovative manufacturer of precision gearboxes for robotics and automation applications, among others. As of December 1, 2022, Melior Motion GmbH will operate under the name of Schaeffler Ultra Precision Drives GmbH. The aim of the acquisition is to continuously expand the Industrial division’s portfolio of precision gearboxes and to secure a strategically strong position in the dynamically growing market for industrial automation.
